Making a Difference

At Bear Industries we believe it is possible to make a difference while also making money. Which is why every city and town we do business in we keep the same business model and attitude which includes:

  • Giving homeless people an opportunity.
  • Doing our mass hirings from recovery homes.
  • Changing the way we fill our units
  • Rebuilding abandoned and distressed properties.
  • and so much more

WE REBUILD
ABANDONED AND
DISTRESSED PROPERTIES

By focusing are core business around turning abandoned and distressed properties into modern affordable housing we also make a big impact on the surrounding community by:

HELPING HOME VALUES INCREASE

When areas contain abandoned properties its can tend to bring the entire market down around it, but when these properties are rebuilt it brings hope to the surrounding community.

REDUCING CRIME

Were there is abandoned properties usually you will find criminals because it’s the perfect place for them to hide or conduct business. If you take that away , they will find somewhere else to go , and the neighborhood will get better.

ENCOURAGING OTHERS TO FIX THEIR PROPERTIES

Its no secret when one neighbor sees another another neighbor start to do something they want to do it better and the last thing anyone wants is to have the worst house on the block. So, once that abandoned property suddenly turns from the worst house to the nicest . You would be surprised at how quickly the entire neighborhood changes

HIRING
FROM RECOVERY
HOUSES

When we do mass hiring or need extra help in an area we reach out to recovering houses to pick up day workers that more often than not turns into full-time employment.

SOME PEOPLE JUST NEED A SECOND CHANCE

When a lot of people have been to prison, they come out as a better person looking to make a big change. At this point they know that there are consequences for their actions and are for the next step in life. At Bear Industries we give them the opportunity they are looking for.

MOST EMPLOYERS DENY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN TO PRISON FROM WORKING

Unlike other employers at Bear industries, if you have been to prison, we do not hold against you. Actually, we believe that you now know that there are consequences for your actions and understand that you are much more likely to keep your head straight and do a good job if you are given a chance, so we give you the opportunity to you ‘ve been looking for.

WE CARE ABOUT THE PERSON NOT THEIR PAST

We believe that everyone has a past good and bad, but at the end of the day all that matters is what you do in the time you are with our team.

OUR SYSTEM
FOR FILLING RENTALS
IS BETTER

We understand that the current industry standard for filling rental units is broken because background checks and credit checks can be skewed and filled with extremely dated or incorrect information so instead we operate like this:

WE DO NOT DO BACKGROUND CHECKS

As long as you have the first month’s rent and security deposit in full at the time you want to move in. Then you are probably responsible enought to keep paying your bills.

LATE ON RENT? WE REMIND OUR TENANTS

Late fees can add up and evictions hurt us just as much as our tenants , so intead of waiting to see what happens we try to be proactive and encourage our tenants to pay on time.

CAN’T PAY? WE HAVE A SOLUTION

If a tenant has been with us for some time and is not able to pay rent, we will offer them work that we would normally pay someone else to do. By doing this we can usually give them enough work to cover their shortage on rent.

CAN’T PAY AND REFUSE TO WORK? YOU GOTTA GO

Unfortunately some people we just cannot help and for those we get out of our properties as quick as possible so that we can make room for someone who wants a chance to suceed.

HIRING
HOMELESS
PEOPLE

When we purchase abandoned and distressed properties, a lot of times there will be homeless people in or around them, and instead of just ignoring them we try to work with them if possible.

THEY’RE HOMELESS BUT THEY DON’T NEED TO BE HUNGRY

When we first encounter them, we make sure they are aware of the shelter nearby and sometimes even show them how to get there.

IF THEY WANT TO WORK WE LET THEM

With the properties we rebuild there is a lot of work that our construction workers would rather not to do like cleaning, and for these jobs we first offer them to the homeless.

IF THEY DO GOOD, THEY GET A FULL TIME JOB

In some cases, we will find individuals that show a lot initiative and continue to show up doing a good job with every task they are given. So, naturally we offer them a full time job.
